I've am grateful to have the space of my grandparent's basement for a studio and to use the time for holiday break for completely focus on my own work. I realize as I am getting older, how precious time truly is. This upcoming Friday will be my 32nd birthday. I want to make this decade and all of the others to truly be full of life--- to have a deep impact on myself and for others.
It also means means being conscious and mindful of my actions- and being respectful and loving to those around me.
What I love about printmaking-- especially in monotype-- is that there is always an element of surprise. There is also an intuitive quality that occurs with the medium that allows me to trust the process--- and allow the ink to tell me what to do next. It is a wonderful process of thinking and also "letting go".
I am also thankful for all of the wonderful people we meet in life who offer us lovely treasures of thought. Thank you to my special friend, Ronnie, who sent this to me recently.
"Today may there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love. It is there for each and every one of us."
